M2035 Strategic Plan

University of Manchester

 

Challenge
To create a branded campaign to showcase the launch of the University of Manchester’s Strategy 2035 which aims to re-define what a modern-civic University should look like by the year 2035. The strategy sets out the blueprint to drive transformation for the future.

What we did
We wanted to create an identity that feels alive, evolving and full of purpose. Exploring ideas of energy, motion, and growth led us to the “Starburst” – a symbol of ideas radiating from the University of Manchester and inspired by the North Star. The five arms represent the strategy’s five leaps.

It was designed to feel timeless and flexible so it could evolve over the lifespan of the strategy. Colours were carefully chosen to strike a right balance for all ages. We aimed to build a digital-first identity that tells the University’s story with clarity and optimism.
